A product is an article or substance that is manufactured or refined for sale such as marketing products and services or some dairy products. Product is also a substance produced during a natural, chemical, or manufacturing process such as waste products, for example. A thing or person that is the result of an action or process can also be defined as a product as well as commercially manufactured articles, especially recordings, viewed collectively. In mathematics, a product is a quantity obtained by multiplying quantities together, or from an analogous algebraic operation.
The word product originates from the late Middle English where it got from Latin productum "something produced," neuter past participle used as a noun of producere "bring forth". This complicated ethnological history brought us such a word as a product that we use in our everyday life pretty often.
Products are produced by manufactures for consumers. That is why we define what they are going to produce and in which quantity. Before developing and introducing some new product, a company usually performs some kind of research to find out the desire of purchasers, clients, and surely consumers for this item. Products are very often called goods or just merchandise.
